The Research Projects of the Institute for Advanced Study are determined by the research focus of the Fellows. The fields of research are not static. Fellows gather in thematic focus groups, consisting of scientists from TUM but also including external fellows. Focus groups are gathered at TUM-IAS for a period of at least 6 months and reconvene frequently afterwards in order to continue their research projects.
